~In Memoriam of Wendy and Kimberly Sands~.............

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter in regards to the sentencing of Mr. Dalby.

Sherry Hampton-Sands has been a friend of mine for about 8 or 9 years. The rust time I met Sherry was at a church picnic. She had just moved here from Oklahoma with her son and daughter. It wasn't long after that when Sherry had the great joy of becoming a grandmother. I know this joy because I too, have two granddaughters from my daughter. When I think of all the pain thai Sherry and her family have gone through because of the irresponsible behavior of Mr. Dalby, I realize that it could very easily have been my daughter and my grandchildren that were in the path of Mr. Dalby that night. A mother and daughter coming home from a birthday party had their lives shortened because Mr. Dalby didn't think beyond himself before getting behind the wheel.

I believe that Mr. Dalby should serve a life sentence for the lives that he has taken. He has shown no remorse for what he has done and should not be allowed on our streets again. Mr. Dalby's prior convictions show that this is something he does not take seriously. Wendy and Kimberly cannot be rehabilitated and I don't think Mr. Dalby should be given that chance again. On behalf of our community, parents, grandparents and family, I ask that you not release Mr. Dalby back into our society. Set an example to other offenders that driving while intoxicated is against the law and those that break it will be punished to the fullest.

Sincerely,

Judy Caffey
